Birth through 3.5 years of age
(9am & 10:45am)
In our nursery we aim to provide a loving and safe environment for your child while you attend the adult service. We have one or two rooms open during each service that are staffed with checked volunteers who will lovingly care for your child!
3.5 years old through pre-K children
(9am & 10:45am)
At this age your child’s world is all about discovery and exploration. We want to help them explore who God is in a safe and loving environment.
We use the First Look curriculum to incite wonder in kids’ hearts and help them discover that “God Made Me,” “God Loves Me,” and “Jesus Wants to Be My Friend Forever.” First Look uses a two-year scope and cycle in their curriculum with a different theme each month.
Your child will experience a block of time before the lesson to play and connect with the other children in the room with age-appropriate toys. Each lesson has an interactive video lesson followed by engaging activities to help your child apply the story to their lives and practice faith skills to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Elementary Children – grades K–5th
(10:45am)
During the elementary school years, kids will grow in wisdom, faith, and friendship. In Quest we use the 252 Curriculum to help kids learn that “I Need to Make the Wise Choice,” “I Can Trust God No Matter What,” and “I Should Treat Others the Way I Want to Be Treated.”
252 uses a three-year scope and sequence where each month we take a deeper look at a different important Core Insight from the Bible. Each week focuses on a different Bible story or concept that points to that Core Insight. Kids will engage in a large-group interactive learning environment and then go to their small group, where they will engage in a variety of learning activities that will help them make the connection between what they learned and real life. Small groups also allow children to make deeper connections with other kids their age, as well as their adult leaders.
Our elementary-aged children will begin the service upstairs with their parents. This allows them to participate in the first set of worship songs, to experience what it’s like to be part of the larger body of Fellowship Bible Church, and to be exposed to what happens in the life of FBC. They will be dismissed at the appropriate time to go downstairs to their small group rooms where they should be picked up after the adult service is dismissed.
Safety
Your child’s safety is very important to us! Our children’s areas are staffed with loving volunteers who have gone through training and a background check.
We also have a Hall Monitor in place during each service. This person serves as the eyes and ears in our children’s area to be sure that the area is secure and that people without a need to be there are not wandering through the hallways.
The door leading into our children’s area is locked 15 minutes after the start of each service.
Parent Resources
We know that in our current culture it can be challenging to raise kids who know and love God. We all have so many demands on our time, and it can be difficult to know how to incorporate faith effectively!
We desire to help you incorporate faith into your normal, everyday family life. Each month there is a Parent Cue guide provided for Preschoolers and Elementary children. These can be picked up on the carts in each area. You can find out what the lesson is for each week, as well as some ways that you can engage with your children in the everyday moments, making faith a normal part of your life. There are also QR codes that can be scanned to take you to additional online resources.
Our Explorers will receive an interactive placemat to be used each month at home. Quest children also get a devotional sheet that has four short devotions that can be done at home each week. This is a great way to get your kids in the habit of spending time with God during the week.
Watch for additional Parent Resources throughout the year that can be used to help you incorporate faith activities into your family life. These resources will be located on the table at the bottom of the stairs.
