One of the most challenging, yet rewarding, experiences that we have the opportunity to participate in is the role that we play as parents.  It is such a huge responsibility and privilege to help shape and mold our children into mature adults.

As Christian parents we have the opportunity to raise our children in a way that will bring honor and glory to God and ensure that our children will have every opportunity to one day have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior.  As we embark on this journey called parenting, one of the special events that we have the opportunity to participate in is the dedication of our children to God.

Here at Fellowship Bible Church, we want to be strategic as we help you navigate this journey of parenting and to help you think through who you want your child to become. One of the ways that we can do that is through our Parent/Child Dedication Event. We are planning to have our next Parent/Child Dedication the weekend of October fifth and sixth.  We hope that this will be a very meaningful time for all of our families who participate.

This special event will require you to complete a few easy steps if you would like to participate:

1. Contact Jim Whittaker, at , and let him know that your family would like to participate.  You will then be sent a packet of information.
2. In the packet of information, you receive will be a CD with three short talks.  These are designed to help you think through how you will parent your child.  There will also be some short homework assignments for you to complete after each talk. You can also listen to these talks using the links below.
3. Attend the Parent/Child Dedication Celebration Event which will be held on Saturday, October 5th, from 10:45-12:15PM at Fellowship Bible Church. This will be a special time of celebration that you will not want to miss!

Please be sure to listen to these talks and complete the homework assignments prior to the Parent/Child Dedication Celebration-you will be using these during that event.

Each family will be seated at a table prepared especially for them.  We encourage you to invite guests to attend who will be supporting you through the parenting process so that they can take part in this special occasion-this could be grandparents, other relatives and/or close friends.  There will be additional seating available but only 8 people fit comfortably around the table.  We will be asking for the number who will be attending with you prior to the event so that we can be prepared that day.

We recognize that some families don’t have relatives who live nearby and aren’t currently connected in a Connect Group so inviting people to attend may feel impossible.  Please do not let this hinder you from participating-the staff and elders of the church will be there to support and encourage you so you won’t be alone!

On Sunday, October 6th during the worship service, there will also be a time of sharing this event with the congregation and a pastoral prayer of dedication so be sure to invite your friends and family back for this portion of the weekend as well.
